Write a reviewBuilt in 1863 by the first Lord Abinger, Inverlochy Castle was a private residence until 1963. Queen Victoria herself visited in 1873 and commented in her diaries ‘I never saw a lovelier or more romantic spot’. Located amidst the scenic foothills of Ben Nevis overlooking its own loch, the castle today offers visitors a chance to experience Scotland at its most dramatic and luxurious. Inverlochy can be hired on an exclusive basis making it ideal for an intimate wedding or corporate conference. The Inverlochy Castle event spaces are the perfect location for special celebration. From small intimate occasions to family weddings, this venue has the setting, the history and the magic touch.
Quite possibly the most exclusive and romantic wedding destination in Scotland, the castle is the perfect backdrop to an unforgettable wedding in the Scottish Highlands. Wedding ceremonies can take place in The Great Hall or The Drawing Room each with their own individual character and ambiance, A Scottish Piper is also available to provide the quintessential Scottish touch. For business and corporate entertaining, the castle’s Library and Drawing Room make for excellent meeting rooms and there is accommodation on site for up to 18 guests. Private dining is available for up to 20 guests in the Drawing Room.
The 17 individually designed bedrooms within the castle itself all have en-suite bathrooms and enjoy striking vistas across the loch or up to the mountains above. Renowned for its fabulous cuisine and a proud recipient of a Michelin star, dining in one of the 3 opulent dining rooms is the pinnacle of the Inverlochy experience. The stunning castle grounds offer scenic walks and activities such as clay pigeon shooting, fishing on the loch and horse riding. Afternoon tea can be taken by the open log fire in the Grand Hall and the Drawing Room is ideal for a pre-dinner cocktail.
Excellently located, the castle is closest to Inverness but also within reach of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Transfers can be arranged from any Scottish airport where guests can be picked up in the hotel’s own Rolls Royce Phantom. An 18 hole golf course is available a short distance away in Fort William and numerous other golf courses are within easy reach. A full sized snooker table, games room and library at the castle provide additional entertainment for visitors.
