Prestigious Star Awards 2013 Results
Prestigious Venues hosted the annual Prestigious Star Awards on Wednesday evening at illustrious private members club ‘The Oriental Club’ in London, where 10 award winners were announced. Prestigious Venues made several key announcements that included closer working relationships with luxury event suppliers, seasonal themed promotions with member venues and a forecast of digital trends in 2014. The brand new Prestigious Venues website was also revealed; a cross-platform digital eco-system.

In attendance at the awards were some of the biggest names in the luxury hospitality industry including representatives of the Langham Hospitality Group, Baglioni Hotel Group, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Kempinski Hotels and Red Carnation group. Other attendees included Thomas Pink, WPP, Omicom, D and D London, Montcalm Hotels, The City of Westminster and Imperial University.
The intimate invite-only awards celebrated the quality, performance and reputation of the world’s most remarkable venues. The judging process took into account reviews from Prestigious Venues ambassadors of the physical and digital presence of venues, social media engagement and the votes cast by the public. The award of a ‘Prestigious Star’ was presented to 10 winners that ranged from luxury hotels, to halls, museums, restaurants and event suppliers. Award categories included Most Prestigious Hotel, Most Prestigious Club, Most Prestigious Country Hotel, Most Prestigious Restaurant and more.
Prestigious Venues made several key announcements further establishing its central place in the luxury venue industry. The first of these was the launch of a brand new Prestigious Venues digital eco-system; a cross-platform website that delivers content on desktop, mobile and tablet devices alike; created to improve the experience of event bookers. The second was to announce a closer relationship with high quality event suppliers, beginning with their inclusion on the new Prestigious Venues digital platforms. Event suppliers drove 23% of venue enquiries in the past year and this figure is expected to increase by 15% in the next year. The final announcement was the creation of a new annual events calendar for event bookers to view seasonal promotions and events taking place at member venues.
Prestigious Venues Director, Habib Amir, also offered a state-of-the-industry update including insights from Google and comScore. Predictions for the luxury hospitality industry in 2014 were as follows:
